Welcome to Downtuned
Tell us a few words about the group, when and where did you get started?
How did you meet?
To begin with, we would like to thank you for checking us out and for having us here. We are named Jaw Breaker, from Athens, Greece and have been a band since 2012 .Nick (Bass) and Chris (Vocals) know each other from childhood and were the founding members of the band. Later on, Alex (Guitar), Manos (Guitar) and John (Drums) were recruited by the band . We all have been bandmates one way or another in various projects earlier in our musical lives. This is how Jaw Breaker came into life my friends.

Which are your musical influences?
Our musical influences vary from member to member, however, we all agree upon a few bands that shaped our musical style.. Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Down, Black Label Society, Kyuss and Sleep, are some of the bands that have influenced us.

What’s your lyrics about? What catches your interest?
Our lyrics are inspired by the troubles and problems that are cast upon a human's life in our “modern” society, including war conflicts, human relationships, poverty, political views etc.

Is the communication with the crowd something that you care about, in all levels, or do you do music for yourselves?
Actually, both the feedback from the crowd and our dedication to music paves the way for us to move forward, write new material and kick ass on stage!

Do you feel like you’re a part of a particular “scene” in which you would like to join and contribute or you are indifferent about it?
In general we like to consider ourselves as part of the greek heavy underground scene and we would love to play a part in it, in the near future . We are often called southern metallers, however, we're not characterized from one single genre of heavy music. We like to think that we are leaning towards the stoner metal style.

How do you imagine that the band will be in ten years from now?
Hmm, tough question... Hopefully we'll still be together and still have the same passion for our music and hope for the best. Also having recorded a few albums would not be bad at all !

Which famous artist you would like to do a guest to a record of yours and why?
Definitely Zakk Wylde because his music and his style have influenced us a lot and in many ways, especially our guitarists .

What plans do you have for the near future?
We are performing as an opening act at the "Full Throttle Jam Vol. 1" at Kyttaro live club in Athens, on the 18th of January, with some great bands. In addition, we are looking forward to play a number of live performances we have arranged in the months to come .

We wish you good luck to whatever you’re doing, the epilogue is yours.
Thank you again guys for this interview.. In these difficult times, music becomes more and more a necessity rather than a hobby, in our everyday lives. Through music we can all overcome our troubles or at least break their jaws !
